The S.F.T. Concept
S.F.T.® is an abbreviation for Synchronized Flow Technology.  Hemodynamic profile, which is characterized by increased peak venous velocity (PVV), has emerged as the desired property for all mechanical compression devices.

However, high PVV devices usually suffer from poor compliance by patients. MCS has developed ActiveCare+S.F.T.® in order to solve this negative trade-off related to mechanical prophylaxis.

Based on its synchronized flow technology, ActiveCare+S.F.T.® identifies the patient's venous blood flow pulses and the pump is actively synchronized to these natural rhythms. This technology allows significant amplification of the venous flow pulsatility, which produces minor impact on the legs by applying gentle pressure and delivers an optimal hemodynamic profile tailored to the patient's specific physiology.

The C.E.C.T. Approach
Despite the medical consensus that exists around the importance of DVT prophylaxis, the recommended protocols are underutilized. While chemoprophylaxis carries a bleeding risk as high as 5%, mechanical compression devices induce poor compliance, which significantly limits their clinical efficacy and use.

MCS has created a new category of mechanical solutions for DVT prevention called Continuous Enhanced Circulation Therapy systems (C.E.C.T.®). This category encompasses small, patient portable, battery operated compression systems that are able to deliver therapy to the patient on a 24/7 basis: From the emergency room, to the operating room, to the ward and at home.
